Kearney Catholic scored its first goal in five tries at the Nebraska state tournament, but they're still searching for a win after Columbus Scotus ended the Star season, 3-1, Friday at Morrison Stadium in Omaha.

Scotus, who beat KCHS 7-0 in the regular season, looked like they may repeat the April 11 meeting at Columbus. The Shamrocks took a 3-0 lead with 29 minutes remaining in the game.

Piper Schrock scored a goal for Kearney Catholic in the 74' for the Stars, who had previously been shutout 13-0 in their four previous trips to the state soccer elite eight.

Kearney Catholic, who finishes 4-4 in road or neutral games, ends the season at 13-4.
