Meteorologist Tim Reith is originally from northern Kansas and in fact grew up watching KHGI/NTV as a child. Tim states that his love and fascination with weather arrived at a young age while growing up on the family farm. With an open field to the west of his farmhouse Tim was able to watch storms roll in and this was the only spark needed to propel him into the field of meteorology.
Tim's outgoing personality was a strong factor in leading him to become a broadcast meteorologist. He graduated from Kansas University in 2003 with a bachelor's degree in Atmospheric Science.
After working as a part time meteorologist for Channel 6 in Lawrence, KS he was excited to join the First Alert Weather team in January of 2006. He has served as the meteorologist for Good Morning Nebraska and NTV News at Noon ever since. He was awarded the AMS Seal of Approval for excellence in forecasting in 2007.
When not busy tracking severe storms, winter weather, or other various forms of weather, Tim enjoys spending time with his family. Raising two daughters certainly helps to keep him and his wife busy but in his free time he enjoys golfing, fishing, camping, and watching various sports. He is a life-long Kansas City Royals and Chicago Bears fan and often sacrifices sleep in order to stay up and root on his favorite teams.
