One of the many expected newcomers to the Nebraska roster is no longer joining the program.
Kobe King, who was set to join the Cornhuskers after spending the first few seasons at Wisconsin, has withdrawn his name from the process, head coach Fred Hoiberg stated in a press release.
King, who had verbally committed in late February, has decided against his venture to Lincoln "for personal reasons," according to Hoiberg, or "The Mayor," as he's affectionately known. "We respect his decision and wish him the best in his future endeavors."
King averaged 10.0 points per game and shot 45.9 percent from the field, although his accuracy from the outside was a paltry 25.0 percent.
Hours later, the Cornhuskers received a verbal commitment from shooting guard Elijah Wood, according to his Twitter account, who has now said he was going to join three different schools and a post-graduate academy after going to different high schools in different states as a junior and senior.
Wood had originally chosen to play at Tulane before he rescinded his first verbal.
The 6-foot-5, 190-pound player later chose to commit to the University of Rhode Island before taking his name out of the running in late April and decided to join the Hargrave Military Academy for the upcoming year, which is now being spent in Lincoln after reclassifying for the class of 2020.
