Hall County Says 'No' to Road Closure

Many citizens in Hall County would like one of its roads closed for varying reasons, but the county board disagrees.

A Hall County farmer wants Elm Island Road closed because he says many kids have been known to go out to the remote road to drink alcohol.

The crane trust also would like the road, located near Doniphan, closed because it is near a roosting spot for sand-hill cranes. They would like to keep traffic away from the habitat.

Unfortunately for them, the Hall County board members are not willing to close the road. They say it could set a bad precedent, and the birds will just have to live with the traffic.
