It's said that one blood donation could help save the lives of three people, that's according to the American Red Cross.
On Tuesday donors filied in to the America Red Cross Grand Island location in an effort to help the heavy need.
Jeremy Aupperlee with the American Red Cross says bad weather has caused an even bigger shortage for this time of year, "We normally have a shortage right after the holidays because donors are so busy and we run into scheduling problems. But with so much bad weather going around across the country it's cut and delayed so many blood drives."
Aupperlee says if you're planning on donating to have a good meal before hand and to be well hydrated.
