Benefit to help two-and-a-half year old twin girls
A benefit for Alexis (Lexi) and Blakely Pacheco, twin daughters of Brandon and Raeleigh Pacheco, of Shelton, will be on Sunday, June 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Devine Hall in Shelton.
The benefit will feature sloppy joes, ice cream sundae bar, a raffle and a silent auction.
Some of the many silent auction items include a boys and girls bike, a television, and pool pass to the Shelton Swimming Pool.
Two-and-a-half year old twin daughters Lexi and Blakely were born at 34 weeks and spent about one month in neonatal care at Children’s Hospital and Medical Center, in Omaha.
After arriving home, the girls suffered from pain in their stomachs which prevented them from sleeping.
They now make trips to Children’s Hospital two or three weeks per month and, since the girls’ digestive systems do not work, they are required to have ileostomy bags as well as peripherally inserted central catheters or “PIC lines” that are attached to their hearts.
A doctor in Boston, Massachusetts, believes he can help the girls, so the family has an appointment with him at the end of July.
There is an account for the Pacheco family for donations at Cornerstone Bank in Shelton.
