Mindset Matters is a program that teaches students, employees, business owners and current or aspiring entrepreneurs the skills needed to make their dreams become reality, but students are not there to just listen, they are expected to do.

"In this curriculum, Who Owns the Ice House? there are 24 different unlikely entrepreneurs and that's what it's based on," said entrepreneurship educator Janita Pavelka.

Pavelka said this is a great first step towards starting, or expanding, your own business.

"The Ice House Entrepreneur Program is all about the mindset, the entrepreneurial mindset," she said. "So, we're not talking about business basics here, but we're talking about the mindset which is really the precursor before you learn all the business basics."

It covers topics like the pursuit of knowledge, the power of persistence, creating wealth and building your brand.

"Branding can be marketing but branding is also your reputation," said Pavelka. "Am I going to do what I say I will do? Am I going to show up on time? Am I going to give great customer service? Am I going to be honest and truthful and think about my customer?"

It's created for anyone 14 or older, including 17–year–old Steven Baumgartner who recently created an all–natural dog treat business.

"I have a few customers here in Holdrege that are being consistent," said Baumgartner. "So, when they run out they call me and say can you make up some more"

He hopes this program will help take his company to the next level.

"I wanted to join this because I want to expand my business, learn how to expand it, see what I can do to reach out beyond Holdrege," said Baumgartner. "I hope to learn how to run my business more efficiently and how to push it out there."
