GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (NTV NEWS) — Harvest of Harmony got an early start Friday night in Grand Island.
"Your Miss Harvest of Harmony 2017 is Miss Broken Bow High School," Miss Nebraska 2017 Allison Tietjen announced.
Gracie Williams was crowned during the Harvest of Harmony Pageant, at Central City Community College.
She was one of 28 high school seniors vying for a chance to participate in the Harvest of Harmony Parade. The winner will continue her duties well after the parade is over.
"They represent the community, they represent their school, they come back and crown next year's Harvest of Harmony," said pageant chair Jen Barker.
The pageant was hosted by Miss Nebraska 2017, Allison Tietjen.
Harvest of Harmony is the largest band parade in Nebraska. Nearly 100 will participate on Saturday, October 7, along with more than 40 floats.
Things get started at 8:15 a.m. in downtown Grand Island. Bands will march down 3rd Street. If you plan to watch, organizers recommend arriving at least an hour before show time.
