Pass the coffee, and apparently pass a lot of coffee!
A Twitter survey was done to see how many cups of coffee people usually drink a day?
Results ranged from one to two... to 36!
New research shows that individuals can drink up to 25 cups of coffee a day and it's safe for your heart.
That would be considered high end coffee consumption for most people but this new study, with 8,500 respondents, said people could guzzle gobs of java and it won'y hurt the heart.
"Your arteries weren't gonna be any stiffer if you drink less than one cup a day or up to 25 cups a day. So it didn't matter the amount of coffee you drank, it wasn't going to affect the stiffness in your arteries," said Kaiti George, Dietitian.
However, if you have stiffer arteries you will have a higher risk of cardiovascular disease or stroke.
The caffeine in coffee triggers some issues, such as a spike on blood pressure. There could also be stomach concerns but there is positive sides as well.
"Coffee being an anti-inflammatory, it has a high amount of antioxidants that can help prevent diseases such as metabolism disorders," said Kaiti,
But that study out of England pointed to 25 cups a day. Kaiti added that is just a headline grabber.
"Well if you drank 25 cups of coffee you might have the jitters. I would definitely think you'd make trips to the bathroom and you wouldn't sleep tonight," said Kaiti.
