Secretery of State's Offices gives election day reminders

Primary Election Day is almost here - set for May 15 - and the Secretary of State's office wants to remind voters about some things they can do before heading to the polls.

  • Be sure to check your voter registration and polling place. Make sure you know where you are assigned to vote and how long your polling place will be open.
  • Be prepared. The Secretary of State is reminding voters to read up on the candidates and issues on the ballot. Sample ballots are printed in local newspapers and posted on county websites.
  • Be sure to turn off your phones and other electronics when you head to your polling place because they can be distracting to other voters.

Early voting continues through Monday, May 14.

People can vote in person at county election offices.

If you're voting by mail, ballots must be received at the county election office by the close of polls on Election Day.
