Rep. Don Bacon to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders
OMAHA, Neb. —
Congressman Don Bacon will travel to Israel next week to receive updates on the U.S.-Israel relationship, the peace process, Israel’s security situation, and important political and economic trends in the region, according to a press release.
He will meet with senior Israeli and Palestinian leaders and explore opportunities for bilateral economic and technological cooperation with the Israeli business community.
“As an Air Force Officer, I helped set up Israel’s missile defense system and I am looking forward to seeing how it is being utilized and how it has progressed,” said Bacon. “I look forward to joining Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy and my freshman colleagues in gaining a broader understanding of the quest for a lasting peace in the region with a wide variety of leaders across the spectrum–Israelis, Palestinians, religious figures, opposition members, military members and ordinary citizens. At a time of great instability in the region, Israel is America’s most important ally.”
