Sen. Ebke on why we need medical marijuana

Sen. Laura Ebke is a co-sponsor of the Medical Cannabis Act. The bill is a comprehensive medical marijuana bill that would be more restrictive compared to other states and would prohibit smoking of cannabis.

Senator Ebke also tells us she introduced a bill on cannabidiol, a marijuana extract that takes out THC, the psychoactive part of the drug. Under the bill, Nebraska would reduce the scheduling of CBD oil, if the FDA reschedules. This would make it a Schedule V drug. Meaning it has a low potential for abuse.

The Medical Cannabis Act has a hearing on Wednesday at 1:30 P.M. in the judiciary committee. Sen. Ebke is the chair of that committee.
