GRAND ISLAND, Neb. -- The manager of the Central Nebraska Humane Society has confirmed that she was fired from her position.
Shelter manager Rose Ausmus said she and veterinarian Brad Adrian were both fired following a meeting with the humane society's board.
Ausmus said the entire staff of Central Nebraska Humane Society was called into meeting Friday morning at 10 a.m. when the board fired both Ausmus and Adrian - saying they had "a conflict of personality."
People working closely with the shelter said Adrian may removed pet medication and other drugs from the facility when he was fired, and the Grand Island Police Department confirmed that a theft report was filed against him on Nov. 1.
According to Ausmus, Adrian was accused of stealing $5,000 worth of narcotics.
Ausmus said CNHS accused both of them of "abandoning their job."
NTV News reached out to CNHS and they said "no comment" before any questions were asked.
