Church Uses Music to Bring Community Together
A Grand Island church is using music as a way to draw people together and share in fellowship.
It's a much smaller stage than at the state fair, but members from First Christian Church say this concert series at Grace Abbott Park is a way to get out in the community – not to preach, but to share their love of music.
This year's event happens to be on the same weekend as the fair, but organizers say there's no reason to compete against it.
“I think the one thing I'd like to share with people is that God's love is timeless, it doesn't depend on what day, and even if a lot of people are enjoying the state fair there are other things people can enjoy. We're sure having a good time today and we're glad for everybody who's come out,” said Scott Taylor of First Christian Church in Grand Island.
This is the third year for the event that brought out about six acts to perform at the park.
