City of Kearney picks recommendation for air service

 (NTV News)

Kearney has selected SkyWest, a jet service, which is part of United Express to be the service provider at the Kearney Regional Airport.

The City of Kearney looked at seven air service carriers at the meeting Monday morning.

SkyWest flights will fly out 100 people a day and will have a destination to Denver.

That recommendation will be sent to the Department of Transportation. They are expected to award a contract either later this month or in early Oct.

The previous airline provider Penair, filed for bankruptcy and had its final flights on Sept. 10.
