Councilman and attorney Roger Steele running for mayor of Grand Island
A Grand Island City Council member and attorney Roger Steele is running to be the next mayor of Grand Island.
Steele, 61, said he believes his service on the council has prepared him for this opportunity.
Mayor Jeremy Jensen previously announced he would not seek a second term.
Steele has served on the City Council since 2014.
He has been an attorney for 30 years, with an extensive background in educational law.
He graduated from Wayne State College and received his law degree from Creighton University.
Steele and his wife Liana have two daughters.
