Doniphan man wins $50,000 on Powerball ticket
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. —
A Doniphan man matched enough numbers on a Powerball ticket to add $50,000 to his pocket.
Rod Cosgriff purchased his ticket from Pump & Pantry at 821 S Webb Road in Grand Island, according to Nebraska Lottery. The winning ticket contained one play that matched four out of the five winning numbers (17, 18, 39, 56, 64) and the winning Powerball number (12) from the April 25 drawing.
When he came to claim his prize, Cosgriff told Lottery officials he purchased the ticket a day after his wife’s birthday, saying it was a good present. Cosgriff said he’s still trying to decide what to do with the money, but is considering a trip to the Black Hills.
