GI hospital helps people cope with grief one ornament at a time
GRAND ISLAND, Neb. —
People at CHI Health St. Francis in Grand island are honoring their loved ones by putting ornaments on a tree in the hospital.
It is the 13th-annual Tree of Love vigil that the St. Francis Foundation puts together each year.
It is designed to help people cope with grief of losing a loved one during the holiday season.
CHI officials said this is a time when community members can support one another.
"There's so much more to healing then being in the hospital and caring for a wound or an illness," said Claire Aguilar, St. Francis Foundation Director. "Spiritual healing and emotional healing is all part of that holistic approach to making people to feel better."
