GRAND ISLAND, Neb. — City council members voted to approve Grand Island's one- and six-year street plan at their regularly-scheduled meeting on Tuesday.
Public Works Director John Collins presented the plan, which includes creating a roundabout for the city's five-point intersection. The plan shows that 80% of the project will be federally funded as a safety project through the Nebraska Department of Transportation.
Other projects include resurfacing of several streets including the following:
Improvements to Old Potash Highway were also included, focusing on North Road to Webb Road including the intersections to the north and south. The plan is to widen the roadway and improve traffic signals at the intersection to ease connectivity to other roadways.
