Grand Island Police are looking for suspect in attempted robberies
Grand Island Police are asking for help in finding a suspect that attempted to rob two convenience stores Thursday night.
The Grand Island Police Department (GIPD) said they were called to the Snack Shack at 715 South Locust Street for an attempted robbery.
They told police that an employee was getting ready to close the store when a masked man with a firearm came into the store and demanded money.
GIPD said the employee pushed him out of the store and he did not get any money.
GIPD said they also then responded to another attempted robbery call about an hour later at Pump & Pantry on South Locust street.
An employee told police that a Hispanic male wearing a mask came into the store and demanded money. He said the male came around to the cash register and took over $100 and left.
Police says the suspect is described as a young Hispanic male about 5' 6", thin build and was wearing a bandanna and camo jacket.
