Grand Island woman sentenced in bowling ball assault
A Grand Island woman was sentenced to probation for throwing a bowling ball at her husband and injuring him.
Judge Teresa Luther sentenced Jessica McCormick to two years of probation in a plea deal.
McCormick was initially charged with third-degree domestic assault with priors and resisting arrest. She pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and the assault charge was dropped.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, McCormick threw a bowling ball at her husband on Oct. 14, 2017. When officers arrested her she intentionally hit her head on the cage of the patrol car when she was put in, and was then taken to the Hall County Jail by ambulance.
