(MGN)

The water levels will be lowered at two Nebraska state parks as part of projects to improve the areas.

The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission says Memphis Lake in Saunders County and the wetlands at at Kiowa Wildlife Management Area south of Morrill, Nebraska, will both be lowered.

Around Memphis Lake, the wetlands will be restored to provide better habitat for wildlife.

At Kiowa, the wetlands are being lowered for a fire break can be created ahead of planned prescribed burns in the area this winter.
