Hastings man arrested after thefts from unlocked cars

A Hastings man is in custody after items were reported stolen from vehicles overnight.

28-year-old Jesse Gilmore was arrested Wednesday morning on theft, possession of stolen property and possession of a concealed weapon charges in the 800 block of Glenwood in Hastings.

Police say there were numerous unlocked vehicles that had items stolen from them in the area behind the Imperial Mall.

Officers responded at around 3 a.m. to reports of a suspicious person, and victims said someone had entered their cars.

Police say they found Gilmore with a stolen suitcase that he was using to carry stolen property.

Officers can't confirm if he was connected to other recent car break-ins around Hastings.
