Kearney Catholic High breaks ground on new addition
Students and staff at Kearney Catholic High School brought out the golden shovels and hard hats on Tuesday to celebrate the groundbreaking of several new additions to the school.
Tuesday marked the start of a new era at Kearney Catholic as the school begins a planned addition of a new chapel and entryway for the school in addition to new administration offices.
The gym at Kearney Catholic was packed as students and members of the community were in attendance for the ceremony.
Cindi Richter, the director of development for the Kearney Catholic High School Foundation, said the project is the third phase of its “moving forward in faith campaign" that helped fund two science classrooms in 2013 and six new classrooms in 2016.
The new additions to Kearney Catholic should be completed by the first day of the 2018-2019 school year on August 23.
