Kearney Night Market attracts hundreds of community members
KEARNEY, Neb. —
The Kearney Night Market is back for the season and community members say they're excited.
Located at downtown Kearney on the bricks, the event sees around 700 people each night it's there.
One of the founders of the Night Market and Kearney Local, Chais Meyers said the goal is to bring together local food vendors, entrepreneurs and even young entrepreneurs.
It's free for people to attend and the event is held on the first and third Thursday of every month until September.
"From our perspective, it shows the diversity of what the community and central Nebraska has to offer. We are just trying to bring everyone together and even though we are so digital these days, it kind of separates us. This is a real opportunity to rub shoulders in a literal and figurative sense with the actual community members," said Meyers.
For the months of July and August, the night market is pairing with the Downtown Improvement Board to bring a summer concert series, as well as a beer garden.
