LINCOLN, Neb. — A Lincoln police officer is in the hospital after being assaulted Friday night.
According to officials, the confrontation occurred near 10th and Y Streets in Lincoln.
Officers responded to calls of a man yelling in the street and and knocking over motorcycles.
When they tried to arrest 18-year-old Kevin Estrada, reports say he punched the officer in the face.
The Lincoln Police Department tweeted that the officer suffered "traumatic" facial injuries.
The officer is currently recovering at Bryan West Hospital and is expected to be OK.
Estrada was arrested for felony assault of a police officer.
