Longtime animal shelter director back as Central Nebraska Humane Society regroups
Grand Island, NEB. —
The former head of the Central Nebraska Humane Society is back, saying the organization needs to rebuild trust.
Laurie Dethloff tells NTV she is returning in a consulting role, to "sort things out."
The shelter has been the subject of recent criticism, and recently pledged more transparency about finances.
Dethloff told NTV that executive director Chasity Cross is no longer with the CNHS.
Dethloff said she's there to "get us regrouped".
Cross took to Facebook following the announcement saying the decision was "unjustifiablely and unproffesionally done and at an inappropriate time."
