One person died and two others were injured in a collision on Highway 92 in Merrick County.
According to the Merrick County Sheriff's Office, a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria was westbound on Highway 92 near mile marker 375 when it crossed the center line and hit a 2011 Chevy Malibu that was eastbound. The accident happened around 8:17 a.m. on Wednesday.
Two men in the Crown Victoria were taken to Merrick Medical Center, where the 64-year-old driver was pronounced dead. The passenger, a 64-year-old man, had non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Malibu, a 39-year-old woman, was also transported for non-life threatening injuries.
The Sheriff's Office is not releasing the names of those involved at this time.
The Sheriff's Office said seat belts were not believed to be in use in the Crown Victoria and were in use in the Malibu. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash.
