KEARNEY, Neb. — K-C and Aly Mumy started the band KALI INDIANA in Nebraska five years ago. They named it after the first letter in K's name and Aly's name and Aly is originally from Indianapolis.
Kali Indiana is currently on a summer tour and on Saturday they stopped in Kearney. They're influenced by Nebraska, and were present for people during the floods earlier this year.
"We've actually spent the last couple months playing multiple gigs benefiting the flood victims in different areas across Nebraska. We got some song ideas, so there's no doubt about," Aly said.
Aly's godmother Judy McDonald was present at their concert at Coppersfield Bar, she said the band will grow.
"Aly and K.C. are doing a great job, I think they'll go places and they're having a great time at it, that's meaningful... They have the culture of Nebraska with their songs, I really think they do a good job," McDonald said.
Kearney is one of the first of many stops in their Nebraska-fill summer tour. They will finish in Waterloo in September.
