As of May 26, 4:30 AM, flash flooding continues to pose dangerous conditions in southwest Nebraska.
Numerous flood warnings are in effect for this region, expected to persist at least until the mid to late morning hours. Reports of flooding have been received from various areas, including water over the road approximately 20 miles north of Benkelman.
Flash flood warnings have been expanded to include Hayes County in Nebraska until 9 AM, as localized heavy rain persists.
According to Nebraska 511, NE 61 is closed between US 34 and US 6, due to the flooding. Additionally, NE 25 is closed in both directions between US 34 and US 6, also due to flooding.
