KEARNEY, Neb. — A local photographer is trading pet pictures for pet food.
“We've been doing this promotion each year for almost a decade now. Some years are better than others, but on average we raise enough food each year to feed every animal at the shelter for three months,” said Brian Baer.
Baer said for the entire month of January Baer Studios will be accepting one large bag of Science Diet pet food as payment for a pet session fee. All pet food and a portion of all sales from the sessions will be donated to the Kearney Area Animal Shelter.
“Food is a large expense for our shelter,” said Olivia Derr, executive director at the Kearney Animal Shelter. “We are also appreciative to accept approved items, monetary donations and we are always looking for additional volunteers.”
Derr said an official wish list and volunteer application can be found at www.KearneyAnimalShelter.com.
To schedule a portrait appointment for your pet, call Baer Studios at 308-234-2601 or online at www.BaerPhoto.com.
Baer said he’ll photograph all kinds of pets. He’s taken portraits of people with their ferret and lizards over the years, and a bird is already scheduled for this year.
