Police: Meth found while serving two arrest warrants for weapons charges
BEAVER CITY, Neb. —
Law enforcement with the Furnas County Sheriff's Office arrested two people after serving arrest and search warrants in Arapahoe on Monday.
The two warrants for Colby G. Carpenter, 33, of Arapahoe, were each for one count of possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person. The bond amount set on each warrant was $250,000.
The sheriff’s office said they also received a search warrant for Carpenter’s residence to search for additional weapons.
Carpenter was taken into custody without incident outside the home. Police said Natasha Carpenter, 33, and four children were at the residence at the time of the search.
During the search, officers found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Natasha Carpenter was arrested and jailed for one count of possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine. Colby Carpenter was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine and possession of a drug paraphernalia.
The four children were removed and placed into the custody of Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
Natasha Carpenter is scheduled for arraignment on July 23 at 1 p.m. in the Furnas County Court. Colby Carpenter remains in custody with a total bond of $515,000 and is scheduled to appear in Furnas County Court on July 20.
