The charges stem from an incident last September involving a shooting in which two Hastings Police officers fired their weapons.
On Monday, Adams County District Court Judge Terri Harder granted a motion filed by prosecutors to have Anthony Mattison undergo a second evaluation to determine whether he is competent to stand trial.
An evaluation is to be conducted on Feb. 24 at the Nebraska Department of Correction’s Reception and Treatment Center.
Last November, Adams County District Court Judge Morgan Farquhar ordered the first competency evaluation be conducted. Court records do not indicate what the findings of this first evaluation were or if any decisions were made based on it.
