A South Sioux City man has been charged after allegedly threatening pro-life advocates outside a Lincoln Planned Parenthood clinic.

Anthony Ladd, 44, is charged with one count of terroristic threats.

According to an arrest affidavit, Lincoln Police were called just before 1 p.m. Tuesday to Planned Parenthood, 5632 South 48th Street after a man and a woman reported Ladd threatened them and used a piece of rebar in his hand as a weapon.

Upon contacting the two, they told police they were volunteering as part of Sidewalk Advocates for Life and attempted to contact two people entering the clinic “to give them other options available to them.”

The woman said Ladd then came out of the clinic where she attempted to contact him before he walked to his vehicle parked in the parking lot.

The woman said Ladd became upset with her, started yelling profanities, threatened her and held up a 28.5 inch piece of rebar. LPD said she was not struck.

The woman said Ladd later got into his vehicle and drove off. She was able to get his license plate number and provided that to officers.

LPD officers later located Ladd inside The Garage Sports Bar and Grill, 5551 South 48th Street. Upon contact, he told officers the woman approached him and he told her to leave him alone. Ladd admitted to causing a disturbance and yelling profanities but said he “did not mean to harm or hurt them (the man and the woman).”

Ladd was arrested and taken to the Lancaster County Jail. His bond has been set at $7,500.
