SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. — Nebraska law enforcement officers helped see some precious cargo across the state borders on Monday.
The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree made its way through the state from Oregon and is heading to its final destination in Washington, D.C.
Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol tweeted photos of the tree's journey as it reached places like Scottsbluff and North Platte.
According to the Capitol Christmas Tree's website, the tree will follow the Oregon Trail in reverse on its way to Washington, D.C.
This year's tree was taken from the Willamette National Forest in Oregon.
