WESTON, Neb. — A woman died in a rollover crash in Saunders County on Sunday.
According to the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called around 4:20 p.m. to a single-vehicle rollover crash approximately one and 3/4 mile north of Highway 92 on County Road 24 near Weston.
The Sheriff’s Office said a black GMC Envoy, driven by Katie Weakly, 29, of Prague, was traveling northbound on Road 24 between County Roads L and M when the vehicle lost control and went into the west ditch. The GMC Envoy then overturned and collided with a tree, pinning Weakly.
Investigators said she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Sheriff’s Office said it is unknown whether alcohol was a factor in the crash and that Weakly was not wearing a seatbelt. The crash remains under investigation.
Weston Fire and Rescue, Malmo Fire and Wahoo Fire and Rescue also responded to the crash.
