Long harvest season nears the end in Nebraska

Rain and wind have been challenges during the fall harvest, but it's now quickly nearing the end in Nebraska.

The USDA reports 86 percent of corn has been picked, as of November 12. Last year at this time, 92 percent of corn had been harvested.

For comparison, 68 percent of corn had been picked the week before.

95 percent of winter wheat has emerged. It rates mostly good to fair.

Sorghum harvested is also wrapping up. 85 percent has been harvested, behind 96 last year and 93 average.
