LINCOLN, Neb. — State lawmakers are set to discuss a bill next week that would mandate the availability of E-15 fuel at most Nebraska gas stations.
PROPOSAL WOULD REQUIRE MOST NEBRASKA GAS STATIONS TO OFFER E15
LB 562, introduced by Senator Myron Dorn, requires fuel retailers to offer E-15 at 50 percent of their pumps if they build a new site or replace a significant portion of their gas pump infrastructure.
The bill also proposes increasing tax credits for gas stations selling E-15.
With just one vote remaining, the measure is nearing the final stages of approval before reaching the governor's desk.
Lawmakers have a limited time of five more days to push through legislative measures.
