KEARNEY, Neb. — The same day UNK football players were present at a scene where shots were fired, a Kearney man allegedly assaulted a UNK football player according to court records.
Marvin Zuniga, 19, is charged in Buffalo County Court with one count of second-degree assault - a warrant for his arrest was issued Thursday.
An affidavit in the case has been sealed due to an investigation into the matter, but a complaint outlining the charge says the victim is a member on the UNK Football team.
The complaint says the man was assaulted by Zuniga “with a dangerous instrument" on May 14.
NTV News reached out to Buffalo County Attorney, Shaun Eatherton, who declined to provide further details on the case.
Zuniga is not listed as an inmate at the Buffalo County Jail as of Thursday afternoon.
We checked with UNK officials and Zuniga is not a current or former student.
