A man was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital after he was injured as he tried to repair his stalled vehicle and a truck crashed into it.

According to the Kearney County Sheriff's Office, the two-vehicle crash happened Thursday afternoon just east of the Highway 44 and Highway 50A junction.

The sheriff's office said a Chevy Silverado driven by Matthew Blanton, 41, of Kearney, turned east onto Highway 50A from Highway 44 and began accelerating. He then hit the back of a camper attached to a 1994 Chevy that had stalled in the east lane. The impact pushed the 1994 Chevy into the westbound lane, dragging David Lewis, 72, of Kearney, underneath the vehicle. Lewis was in front of the 1994 Chevy trying to repair it when the crash happened.

Lewis was taken to the hospital.

Blanton was released at the scene with minor injuries while two passengers in Blanton's truck reported no injuries.
