Luke McNitt signs free agent deal with Falcons

256 names were called at the 2018 NFL draft. The journey to the league doesn't stop there for players who weren't selected. Kearney native and former Husker fullback Luke McNitt is taking another route to the league, signing an undrafted free agent contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

McNitt electing to walk on at Nebraska after spending his freshman season at UNK. The former Loper making a big impact on special teams for the Huskers, tying for the team lead with 10 special teams tackles as a junior, including 6 solo stops. McNitt played in every game last year, starting a pair of games at fullback where carried the ball six times for 10 yards. He tallied 6 special teams tackles along with two kickoff returns for 21 yards.
