Moos works the phones, campaigns for Big Red basketball

After being knocked out of the conference tourney, many question if Nebraska men's and women's basketball had a good enough season to earn a spot in the NCAA tournament?

Nebraska athletics director Bill Moos using his nearly 25 years of experience in the industry to reach out and sell each program to the committees.

"I've been around the business long enough, to where I know a lot of the folks on those two committees," Moos said Wednesday night in Kearney. "Especially on the men's side, so I got a jump on those communications. I did individually contact every single member of both committees and got a lot of positive feedback."

The waiting game is the worst, especially with the Big Ten tourney moved up a week.

"There's still a lot going on in the rest of these tournaments, so some of it I think we're at the mercy of some other teams," Moos said.

Tim Miles and his squad learn their fate Sunday, with the selection show tipping–off at 5:00 p.m. CT on TBS.

Amy Williams and her group must hold a collective breath another 24 hours, with the selection show airing at 6:00 p.m. CT on ESPN.
