KEARNEY --- The season starts this week for the Loper men's basketball and opponents on their schedule probably have a good idea of the roster UNK brings back to the court.

Graduating only one senior, the "Lope Show" might be nasty this year.

Despite being voted to finish fourth in the MIAA Preseason Coaches Poll, coming in with a veteran line–up has UNK feeling good heading into the season.

"The biggest thing is having the experience back, and hopefully we can get off to a good start," said head coach Kevin Lofton. "Our non–conference is very tough and our seniors will hopefully provide the leadership for us. Will help us do well in our non–conference, but overall it's going to be a tough year for us as far as the conference."

Four All–MIAA players, helping the blue and gold finish third in the conference with a 20–10 record last year.

"We got a lot of guys who have been playing for a long time and we only got two freshmen this year, so it's good to pull them along with us. Like I said we're an experienced group, done a lot of this stuff before, so we should be good to go.

Lansman, who returns as the Lopers leading scorer, is being lauded with some preseason love nationally, receiving a pair of preseason All-American honors.

UNK's season is scheduled to start Friday, Nov. 10 at the Health and Sports Center when Wayne State visits. at 7 p.m.
