The Western Nebraska Pioneers made it four-for-four in games against Hastings with a 5-3 victory on Monday at Duncan Field.

Hastings got out to a 1-0 lead on an RBI single by Jake Oblas in the first inning, scoring Drew Bailey from 270 feet away.

With the game tied 3-3 in the eighth inning, a ball hit to left field by Luke Coker allowed Will Olson, a catcher on UNK's final baseball team, to score a run. Nolan Metcalf, who was 3 of 4 on the day hitting, hit a double to plate Coker which gave the Pios a 5-3 lead.

Trey Kissack delivered 11 strikeouts in six innings of work, but got tagged up for nine hits and three earned runs.

Western Nebraska scored twice when Luther Woullard hit a two-run double in the third and added another run in the fourth courtesy an RBI single from Brandon Bohning to take a 3-1 lead over the 'Busters.

In the fifth inning, Hastings got back-to-back RBI from Breyden Eckhout and Tyler Daugherty, although the second run was unearned because of an error on a ball put in play by Eckhout. Bailey was 2 of 2 for Hastings and was the only person to get more than one hit.

The Clark Division leading Pioneers (11-6) are at Hastings (7-9) again Tuesday at 1:05 p.m. CT
