Aurora views graduation as opportunity

AURORA - Aurora fans may want to grab a program on their way in to the stadium this season.

The Huskies have plenty of new faces in the starting lineup with only four starters back for the 2017 campaign and undergoing a defensive makeover with one returning starter.

However, Head Coach Kyle Peterson isn't fazed by the lack of experience.

"What might look like a disadvantage to us is really taken by our kids as an opportunity," said Peterson. "We have a lot of kids who that believe they have the opportunities to compete for starting positions, whether it be on offense, defense, or special teams."

One of those kids gaining a much bigger role is Baylor Scheierman, who takes over under center. The junior saw limited action, passing for 248 yards and a touchdown last season.

"We have a lot of kids that played some good football already this summer for us and it brings an excitement level I think to practice," Peterson says.

Aurora gets a very tough task in their opener as McCook comes to the sports complex on Aug. 25.
