HASTINGS, Neb. -- The Hastings Broncos football team is currently sitting with the best record, and the Crimson and Cream entered Saturday's contest with Briar Cliff looking to improve to 5 and 1.
On a beautiful afternoon at Lloyd Wilson Field, things started out shaky for the Broncos. Anthony Murray chose to field the punt, and the Chargers force the fumble and early turnover.
Briar Cliff turned it into points; Dylan Desmarais hit Joe Heinrichs for the touchdown, making it 7-0 Chargers.
H-C fired back. Tahj Willingham took the rock and reversed field for a huge gain into Briar Cliff territory. The Broncos got 3 points out of the drive.
Tony Harper's bunch held Briar Cliff and began to take control - this time it was Anthony Cloyd on the QB keeper for the score.
The Broncos cruised home with the win, 45-14.
