Lou Platte semis decided by combined five points

Two of the most hotly contested basketball games in Nebraska took place in Cairo on Friday night.

Arcadia/Loup City was able to hold off St. Paul and advance to the Lou Platte Conference final with a 51-48 victory. Nolan Baker led the Rebels with 19 points and Macrae Maschka was hot on his tail with 16 points plus seven rebounds.

Doniphan-Trumbull and Ravenna were a point closer as the Bluejays edged D-T 60-58.

The LPC championship is scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday at Centura High School.
