South wins entertaining Shrine Bowl, 24-21

The South team defeated the North behind a 50 yard field goal by Noah McCashland in the 4th quarter.

Dylan Plautz and Kearney native Matt Masker combined for 218 passing yards and 2 touchdowns to lead the South offense.

Omaha Westside receiver Caleb Schwiegart had a career day. He set a new Shrine Bowl record with 161 yards receiving off 9 catches and 2 touchdowns. Schwiegart was named the Offensive MVP.

Gothenburg native Bennett Folkers led the North side with 7 receptions for 89 yards and 1 touchdown.
