Stars storm back to topple Patriots

Kearney Catholic went on a 10-0 run to beat Adams Central, 41-39, Thursday night at Cope Coliseum.

Adams Central opened up a 17-4 lead on Kearney Catholic and looked like smooth sailing to make it a 4-0 start to their season.

The Patriots extended the advantage to 32-15 and freshman Libby Trausch was scoring from everywhere on the court.

Pump the brakes.

Kearney Catholic went on a 15-3 run to close the gap to five, only for Adams Central to break the spell and go up 39-31 before making their final run to win the game.

The Stars improve to 1-1 this season, while Adams Central drops to 3-1.
