Matt Frieda

Multimedia Journalist

Matt Frieda went to Westlake High School and attended California Lutheran University (Thousand Oaks) and College of the Canyons (Santa Clarita). He earned a degree in Business Administration/New Media Broadcasting.

During his time at College of The Canyons, he worked as a Multimedia Journalist, producing weekly stories and anchoring the “Canyons News” live show. He also had the opportunity to provide play-by-play for the baseball and softball teams. After completing his degree, he began working at KHTS Radio, hosting his own sports show called “Out of Bounds” where he discussed the latest happenings in sports and gave opinions and predictions both on and off the field.

Matt says he has always had a passion for sports. Not just what happens between the lines, but stories that occur off the field as well. After spending several years in the sales world, he decided it was time to pursue his true passion and he re-enrolled in night courses to learn how to tell important stories to mass audiences.

Matt never imagined that he would ever live in Nebraska. After applying to many stations throughout the country, he came upon NTV and says “I instantly knew this was the right fit for me. Now that I do live in Nebraska, I absolutely love it! The passion and enthusiasm from fans supporting the Nebraska Cornhuskers and local high school sports drives me to provide the best coverage for our viewers on a daily basis!”

Matt enjoys working out and all things athletic. He plays pick up basketball, is a member of a softball team and enjoys taking his German Shepherd, Mooke on long walks throughout the Lincoln area.
